I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from The Illinois Institute of Art in
Schaumburg. I realized my passion for decorating and designing after hearing a radio broadcast
featuring a book on discovering your passion. Here's what I did that lead me in the right
direction...and if you haven't figured out your passion yet, maybe this could help you to.

Think about something you did in the past that you enjoyed thoroughly. This could be a place you
visited, an event you attended, a book you read, an experience you had with a parent, grandparent
cooking or something of this sort. This experience you had would drum up vivid memories where
you remember precise details such as distinct smells, tastes, sounds and you can practically feel
the sensation all over again with all of your senses involved. It is a positive imprint on your life's
journey that makes you feel good, period. My positive memorable experiences include
redecorating my bedroom as a preteen,  going on trips with family and Norwood Gospel Chapel, a
youth group lead by Nate & Nancy Sanders, and attending Camp Myoca when I was eight.

I love space planning rooms and arranging furniture at angles when possible to create interest.
This stems back to an orange and yellow construction paper project I made when I was twelve. I
held onto that floor plan for quite a while even after I entered the Interior Design program. I have to
confess that my talent is inherent as all the women in my family - mother, grandmother, sister and
aunts had and have beautiful homes. I love to surround myself with beauty and create it even in the
smallest ways.

I also love to enjoy nature on an annual camping trip with my husband. We share similar
experiences with youth ministries which has lead us to volunteer in various ways with at risk youth.

As an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers, I am currently serving on the
membership committee which has a vision to serve and unite Allied and Professional Interior
Designers. I  have worked for several design firms in the area including: Designs of the Interior in
Barrington, Design Classics Kitchen and Bath Design in Arlington Heights, and The Great Indoors
in Schaumburg. I advanced within each organization because of an excellent work ethic and
God-given talent to design and fine-tune spacial relationships besides a knack for organization
which comes as second nature to me as well. As most other designers in the residential sector, I
have always desired to run my own business especially since I come from a family of business
owners. I believe I bring many skills and capabilities apart from my most important asset which is
an ability to design creatively from a fresh and energetic perspective.
